More than two thirds of IT Leaders Want To Move Jobs.
August 20, 2008
A new study by PA Consulting and Harvey Nash, the recruitment group, found that over 70% of IT leaders were either actively looking for a new job or were open to approaches from head-hunters. The study approached UK based IT directors and CTO’s stated that 63 per cent of this group thought that they would be in a new job within 24 months or less. The very nature of these roles has always led to a high turnover. It is a fact of life that very senior IT roles come with a lot of pressure. Another study recently showed that these people were one of the highest risk groups for becoming alcoholics.
However almost three quarters said that their roles were fulfilling or very fulfilling.
The only fly in the ointment is the the economy may make it harder to move. However, some of the recruitment indexes show that key roles such as IT leaders, project and programme managers are more in demand than ever.
